For the first 4 weeks of your program, we are working on laying a rock-solid foundation. We will take you step-by-step through the process of getting set up for success in your new at-home training program, teach you the basics, and help you feel really confident and comfortable as we are getting started. Our training sessions are progressive and offer many different options to meet you where you are and help get you to where you want to go. We will offer plenty of time for rest and recovery and will stress the importance of proper form and technique so that you don’t get injured.
The OWN YOUR HEALTH Training philosophy begins with nailing down foundational techniques and basic movements that will set you up for success moving through the program. This will be a crucial time to really hone in on how your body moves and discover any compensations that may hinder your progress. There will be constant coaching to help you gain confidence within yourself and to teach fundamentals that ultimately lead to GREAT SUCCESS. It’s important to maintain a mindset of building a foundation, not of ‘getting in shape’. The first four weeks are designed to CREATE MASSIVE CONFIDENCE for you! The cool part with this mindset is that you will still get in shape, but you will not have to stress about it. You will become stronger, improve your posture, and, believe it or not, you will look forward to your training sessions.

In the beginning, it is so important to focus on and document your WHY. Why do you want to commit to healthy living once and for all? We will take you through a powerful goal-setting process to help you design the life you love, determine what is most important to you in your life, and cast a clear vision for the future. And… when the going gets tough… and it will – you can come back to what you wrote in this lesson to help get yourself back on track.
In this phase, we are focused on building healthy habits. 45% of the things we do on a daily basis are done out of HABIT. From the minute we wake up in the morning until the minute we go to bed at night, we operate out of habit. We will teach you how you can blend new healthy habits (like nourishing yourself well and making it to your training sessions) into your life so that these things feel as routine as brushing your teeth – so that you don’t even need to think about it.
In phase 2, we are stacking the habits to OWN YOUR HEALTH. We’ve built the foundation, now it’s time to test it out. The key to progress is making smart gains. We will do this by increasing the demand on our bodies and challenging the foundation we’ve created. It’s important to realize that trying new things and trying movements that might scare us a little is important to progress. If we do not challenge ourselves, we stay the same. One major key to the second phase is to maintain focus. We are still working through the foundation, just building a little more on top. At times, things may seem difficult for you, but we will continue to practice throughout this phase and you will come out on the other side ready to challenge your fitness level!
You are going to FEEL AMAZING at this point in the program as we work through detoxing your body from sugar, processed foods that are slowing you down, and all the other junk that is causing inflammation (pain in your body), and fatigue.
It’s time to get excited because eliminating ADDED sugar from your diet has an incredibly powerful impact on your health. You will be amazed at how different you will feel just a few short days from now. You might even LOOK different, with your skin taking on a healthier glow!
We will teach you how to deal with your cravings – we know… they are intense at times, but you are strong – you’ve got this, and we are with you every step of the way. In this phase, you will learn how to crack the food label code. We always recommend foods in their most natural state - from the farm, not the factory. Am I going to be able to do what is asked of me in the training sessions?
Yes – absolutely. Mike has been training clients of all different ability levels for over 20 years. In the training sessions, he will describe how you should be feeling throughout the session and give modifications for all different levels. We prioritize proper form and technique over anything else, so you will get a ton of coaching in this area to get you great results fast, avoid injury, and provide you the confidence to push harder, knowing exactly how you should feel throughout your training experience.
Do I need any equipment at home to do the training sessions?
We recommend that you have a dowel (just the end of a broomstick or you can buy this one on Amazon for about $10). The dowel is a simple tool to create tension and reinforce great posture. Other than that, the training sessions are designed with the very best piece of equipment that you have - your body weight. And - you can complete the training sessions in any place where you have just a little bit of space to move. We’ve tested it in our hallway - works great - plenty of space!
Don’t you worry about a thing… That is what we are here for!!! When you start this training program with us, you will go through our complete onboarding module, which will set you up for success - breaking down some of the common movements that we will do in the training and letting you know how everything is supposed to feel. How many times per week should I train?
Our training program is incredibly efficient - just three 45-minute training sessions per week is the sweet spot for getting incredible results. You don’t need to spend your life in the gym to get amazing results - just commit to these three 45-minute sessions per week and you will be good as gold. Outside of your training sessions, completing some Self-Myofascial Release (SMR) techniques (see the bonus section) or getting out in nature for a nice brisk walk will help your muscles recover from your training sessions. This will help keep soreness at a minimum and better prepare you for your next training session.
